Holy Baptism

Baptism is the sacrament of our birth as Christians.

Through many centuries Christians loved to view the baptismal font as the womb of holy Mother Church; for at the font of Baptism her children come forth alive with a new and higher life, that is the life of Sanctifying Grace: a share in the life of God Himself.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated at St. Agnes regularly, on an individual basis, throughout the year on Sundays after the 11 am Mass.

Parents requesting Baptism for their children are asked to call the parish office, 383-4127, during their pregnancy to begin the required paperwork. Once the child is born then a date is set for the baptism if the required paperwork for the Baptismal Seminar is completed and on file with the office.

Baptismal Seminar
The parents and the godparents are required to attend a Baptismal Seminar. The parents and godparents do not have to take the Baptismal Seminar together, they may take the Seminar separately, each in their own parish. Some parishes have scheduled dates for these Baptismal Seminars. St. Agnes schedules individual Baptismal Seminars with the Deacon, which you may schedule when you call the Parish Office to begin the paperwork. Upon completion of the Seminar, one receives a Certificate/Letter of Completion which needs to be on file at St. Agnes Parish Office, so please send it as soon as possible.
