Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus is an international service fraternity founded by Fr. Michael J. McGivney in the 19th century. It is composed of many local chapters. At St. Agnes our council number is 10613.
Our St. Agnes Council of the Knights of Columbus established the provision of security during all Masses on Sundays and Holydays of Obligation as our central service project. In addition to this on-going project, the Knights have faithfully served St. Agnes in numerous ways: helping to support the needs of the Pastor and other ministries within our parish, support Youth Group activities, participate in Pro-Life events, distribute food for the needy and visit the sick and homebound.
In order to fund its major task of parking security as well as all the other smaller projects it has undertaken, the Council has frequent fundraisers; dinners, seasonal flower sales, football boards and various raffles. Through work on these fundraisers, Council family gatherings and communal prayer, the Knights have developed a warm, fraternal camaraderie.
The St. Agnes Council of the Knights of Columbus meets at 6:30 pm in the Meeting Room on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Our meeting is preceded by a fraternal recitation of the Rosary which begins at 6:15pm.
Membership is open to any practicing Catholic man. Dues are $30.00 per year. To inquire about joining our Council contact the parish office, 383-4127, or contact Allen Kliebert at 225-313-3260.
