Food Pantry

The Food Pantry has begun a new outreach to homeless individuals, who do not have the means to cook. Donations of the following food items are urgently needed. Please make certain any canned items have a pull tab for ease of opening.

√ Vienna Sausage √ Pop-Tarts √ Pork & Beans √ Saltine Crackers

√ Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers √ Canned Peaches √ Peanut Butter √ Canned Soup (vegetable, chicken, or beef)

Our Food Pantry works with the Baton Rouge Food Bank and the donations of our generous parishioners to serve the needy in our community. On the 1st Thursday of each month, volunteers sort the food, and certified clients come to our gym to pick up food. To become a certified client, one must live within East Baton Rouge Parish, not exceed a determined household income, and come on any first Thursday of the month at 8 am with a photo id and either a water bill, electric bill, or current rental agreement showing their East Baton Rouge Parish address.

St. Agnes also provides food to registered parishioners who are in need. Please contact the parish office (225) 383-4127 for assistance. We are grateful to be able to provide food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas to registered parishioners who are homebound or in need.

If you would like to volunteer for this ministry, please contact the parish office. Donations of nonperishable food are welcome year-round in the wooden chest in the church near Our Lady’s altar. Monetary donations can be made at the parish office.
