Kathleen Beckman Discusses the Wisdom of Blessed Conchita: Wife, Mother, Mystic, and Prophet for Priests

On January 13, 2024, Kathleen Beckman presented two back-to-back talks based on her book Beautiful Holiness: A Spiritual Journey with Blessed Conchita to the Heart of Jesus. The first talk is “Carrying the Family to the Heart of Jesus,” and the second talk is “Blessed Conchita: Of Mary, the Eucharist, the Cross and Prayer.” Born December 8, 1862, Maria Concepcion Cabrera Arias de Armida, known as Blessed Conchita, was the first Mexican laywoman to be beatified (in Mexico City on May 4, 2019). She was a wife and a mother of nine children. It was revealed to her that sacramental marriage and spiritual nuptials with Jesus are compatible. She later became a widow at age 39 and endured the sufferings brought with the Mexican Revolution from 1910 to 1921. Her writings, which reflect an incredible tranquility despite the chaos surrounding her, include 46 books and 66 diary volumes, approaching the output of the religious writings of St. Thomas Aquinas. She founded a religious community for women and another for men. She died at age 74 in 1937.

Kathleen Beckman is the president and co-founder of the Foundation of Prayer for Priests. Founded in 2013, the Foundation’s mission is to spiritually advance and protect the holiness and fruitfulness of the Priesthood of the Lord, by igniting among the laity and priests, a movement of prayer, sacrifice, service and study.  For the past fourteen years, Kathleen has served on her diocese’s exorcism team and is the administrator of her diocese’s exorcism and deliverance ministry.
