This 2020 novel by the Catholic author of many bestsellers tells about a young lighthouse keeper in Nova Scotia who cherishes his solitude and yet is also haunted by his aloneness in the world and the question of the meaning of his life. Faced with internal storms and actual storms of terrifying power, he becomes caught up in a series of catastrophic events that enable him to perceive reality, meaning, and love.
